A: Vehicle repairs in order to provide a safe and reliable source of personal transportation.
A diagnostic evaluation is conducted on every vehicle by a trained technician that is used to determine any work to be performed. Diagnostic evaluations and repair work is performed by CSAA’s Car Care Plus at their facility in Santa Clara. Qualified Jump Start participants are eligible to use Guaranteed Ride Program transportation services while their vehicle is being inspected and/or repaired. Vehicle repairs may not exceed the value of the vehicle as defined by the Kelly Blue Book.
The determination of whether a vehicle is qualified to receive Jump Start services and what repairs are to be performed are made by CSAA Car Care Plus. Vehicles need not be running in order to qualify for consideration under this program.

A: Current qualified Santa Clara County CalWORKs participants in good standing and those former CalWORKs participants eligible to receive Post Aid Services. In order to qualify for services, applicants must provide proof of vehicle ownership, current registration with DMV, insurance and a valid California Driver’s license.

A: Interested CalWORKs participants must apply for the Jump Start Program through their CalWORKs Employment Technician. Once the approved client referral is received from CalWORKs staff, OUTREACH will forward the referral/application form to the program’s designated vehicle repair shop, CSAA’s Car Care Plus.
