A: Once families have been determined to be eligible for Give Kids a Lift! services, staff considers pickup locations, destination locations, pickup times and the number of children traveling from a pickup location to the same destination in order to select participants for the program. An additional consideration is whether a child requires assistance every day or only on certain days of the week.
While the program makes every effort to provide service throughout the county, because of the limited number of routes that are operated by the program and the fact that many children are excused from school at the same time, requires that pickup locations (schools) for students be near one another to ensure that children do not have to wait long to be picked up. As noted earlier, prior enrollment in the program does not ensure that Give Kids a Lift! services will be continued for your children. |
